Dear Parents and Carers,

 

Calthorpe Academy has remained open during Eid for the past 8 years, as we always strive to keep the school open wherever possible. However, this year presents exceptional challenges, and after careful consideration and consultation with our trust and governance, we have made the difficult decision to close the school on Monday, 31st March.

 

Our key concern is health and safety, as we anticipate significant staff shortages on this day. This would impact vital areas such as classroom supervision, lunchtime provision, and potentially transport, making it difficult to provide a safe and effective learning environment. Given these risks, we believe that closing the school is the most responsible course of action.

 

We appreciate that this decision may affect families in different ways, and we thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
